Just some of the things I need to get off my chest.
Daughter has been missing 32 years

This may not interest most but this is a true story. I have been searching for my missing daughter for 32 years. She was parentally kidnapped by her father, my boyfriend back in 1975. I have found her and she is healthy, married and living in Delaware. I live in Florida but that doesn't stop us from phone calls and emails. You just can't imagine what it's like to know your child is out there, get no help from the system, no help but hope when a T.V. show calls and acts like they are interested in doing a story only to never hear anything. That happened years ago. I finally found her after posting a letter to the Military website. Someone who knew my boyfriend and I at the time contacted me and told me where to look. He wanted no involvement directly but did point me in the right direction. Now after looking for 32 years we are in contact with one another. This is great and having the chance to talk and share information is wonderful. She knew information about me but very little was shared with her. She said she knew the family put me through hell and wouldn't give her much info during the years but had hoped I would find her someday. She now knows she has a half sister and brother, I have been blessed with two grandkids from her and she knows I have a grandchild with my other daughter. It is a new day, new year, new chapter in my life. If you have ever had a life like mine you would write a book, as many of my friends have told me to do. I however like my happy life and don't think I would like to put all my life in a book to be looked at. I would like to tell everyone that if you think you need to find someone to set the record straight or just fix a hole in your life, don't give up, keep trying. I did and now my life is going in another direction again and this time I have more to look forward too. Life is fun and now even a new day makes me smile knowing I can call or email her and say "Hi" I am thinking of you today. It's just great.

Grown kids still need to know you care, even if they act like they don't. Deep inside they feel that connection when you keep trying.

so true.....always keep trying....every attempt is a step closer.....

Glad to hear about your reunion of sorts. It's good to hear when perseverance and patience pays off for someone. Having two daughters myself, I can't imagine what you went through, and can only share a small portion of your elation.

I'm glad you shared it with us.

Thanks for the support

You are most welcome and thanks a bunch for sharing your happy reunion with us.

Yeah, mrs starkers and I went through that for 2 years, trying to care and having it all rejected. Yes, it hurt like hell for what seemed like an eternity at times, but there's no greater feeling than when all that love & care is gratefully accepted and the hugs are reciprocal.

Great news!  I'm so happy for you!!

Yes, this is very true.  I can attest to that by seeing how it affects my husband with his family, and how he currently feels about his family.  I'm a "grown kid", and honestly don't know where I'd be without my parent's love and support.  I believe that my husband is a better person because my parents have taken him is as their own child.  Being a mother myself, I can't imagine the pain you have felt for the last 32 years, and am glad that pain is going away, and you're now rejoicing.

Now if I can just keep the marathon phone calls to less than five hours all will be well. When you have a cell phone and make those free nights and weekend calls you can really keep someone from their life. I cracked up when I looked at my phone the other night and realized I kept her on for that long  She said she didn't mind but I try to hug the phone much tighter I will need a new phone. I think it's really hard for me to get my head around this. Thirty two years is a long time and she is my first child and all. Years of tears, depression, anger, and now I just want to get her to feel the real me over the phone. Heck I am a really great person, (as all my friends know) and she googles my name and there I am. I have so much stuff out there, she found the pictures I posted of nature walls out there. Articles I posted, you can understand. Anyway things are moving along nicely and she is hoping to move to florida with her family now, it's weird because her husband just finished school for HVAC and Florida is the best place to do that. Tried to get my lazy son to go to school for that but there is nothing he will do, he wants to get a job that requires little education, very little hard work, and someone who will pay him for looking pretty, and he want's to be paid well for that. . I am sure there is a job out there somewhere for him but what can you do. I think he should get a job and just spend all his money on lotto tickets, he needs to get lucky because he is so lazy. Anyway gang, thanks again for the support and sorry I went off track here. Laugh and the world laughs with you....
